It seems that Apple doesn't want us to use locate, at it is making it so hard to setup.
If there a way to use finder database from the command line? Maybe I can make an alias.
I would appreciate solutions that would not require system reconfiguration, just because I don't want to repeat the process each time I upgrade the system of switch computers.
The answer may be in the code of some applications.

Their forum is located at http://www.cocoatech.com/forum/. See if you can find any applications that you use that are listed there that have issues. Finder is such an integral part of the operating system that replacing it requires applications not to call Finder or for Path Finder to intercept those calls I assume.
Possible I am missing the point, but can't you Export the profile as a .terminal file and add that to your Login Items?

You could use
mdfind, which uses the Spotlight database. More information on this man page.
