Disable Terminal man page shortcut on Catalina

I recently upgraded to MacOS Catalina and when I am IDEA IntelliJ, if I press Command + Shift + M the OS opens the Terminal program and attempts to load the man page for whatever I had highlighted in the editor at that time, as described here.

This is very annoying because I already have that keyboard shortcut mapped to something else in IntelliJ that I use quite frequently. How do I disable this shortcut?

I tried looking in the Terminal program's preferences but I don't see any keyboard shortcut options there.

If you open Terminal -> Services -> Services Preferences there are some options there for enabling/disabling global keyboard shortcuts.

Then you can disable this at Keyboard -> Shortcuts -> Services -> Open man Page in Terminal

MacOS – Man md5 displays dgst man page

On my ML installation, man md5 does indeed show the MD5(1) man page.

It's possible some local software installation or configuration is causing the display of a man page for dgst instead, though (which appears to be part of OpenSSL.)

A few things to check:

Do you have the MANPATH environment variable set in your shell? It could be looking in an alternative directory for manpages before hitting the system manpages. MANPATH does not appear to be set by default.

Are there alternative MANPATH directives in /private/etc/man.conf? My system has

MANPATH /usr/share/man
MANPATH /usr/local/share/man
MANPATH /usr/X11/man

Has /usr/share/man/man1/md5.1 been replaced by a symlink to another man page that could be producing the dgst content? Try

$ ls -l /usr/share/man/man1/md5.1
-r--r--r--  1 root  wheel  12332 Nov 16  2012 /usr/share/man/man1/man.1

If /usr/share/man/man1/md5.1 has not been changed, then you can read its content specifically this way:

$ man /usr/share/man/man1/md5.1

MacOS – manually edit shortcuts on os x 10.9 (Mavericks)

Run plutil -convert xml1 ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Terminal.plist.
Quit Terminal.

Edit the plist in a text editor:

Terminate the cfprefsd process from Activity Monitor.
Open Terminal.

Preference files are cached in 10.9, so if you edit a preference file directly, just quitting and reopening the application does not apply the changes. You can also run defaults read com.apple.Terminal instead of terminating cfprefsd.
