How can I delete an email in Mac Mail instantly without moving it to the trash? I don't want to look at the spam crap twice 🙂
UPDATE: I want to do this because I have some very old mails in my trash I don't want to delete at the moment (or decide what to do with). So I cannot delete my whole trash. But to avoid the trash becoming bigger and bigger I want to delete spam etc. without moving to trash…
In the GMAIL settings, it says show or not the All Mail folder in IMAP:
So, it is your choice to show the All Mail folder on your computer or not.
There is nothing to break by choosing which folders will show on your computer from mama google's web email.
The All Mail folder is a feature of the Gmail, not your email program. So if you do not want to see it locally then disable it. Also All mail is just a bucket where a duplicate from all other folders reside for easy search. It is not real folder, just a collection of emails from other folders.
I believe Mail updates the .mbox file each time it closes which basically overwrites the symlink.
You could consider trying to symlink in the other direction as spelled out here on Mac OSX Hints or alternatively symlink a parent directory of the .mbox instead since it does not get rewritten.

Why look in the trash at all? Just set your Trash to automatically delete messages after a day. You can do that in the Accounts pane of preferences:
