Chrome browser ignoring parental controls

I'm running MacOS 10.13.6 and it seems that the Chrome browser is ignoring the parental controls that I've set up for kids' accounts. If I try to go to a particular website in Safari it blocks it. However, that very same website is allowed in Chrome. Is this expected behavior? Is there something I can do to make Chrome follow the parental rules?

This is the expected behavior, parental control only apply to the applications provided by Apple. At the time we needed that, we just blocked access to other applications through Parental Control.

Looks like you are doing everything right. Auto logout will only work for the user that is currently logged in.

The easiest way is to reboot the system. Either automatically at night or if you need to get the system under control quickly.

I found this discussion on the apple support boards (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1402679?start=0&tstart=0) that advocates using Activity Monitor to kill the process.

Or go hardcore and write a script that will occasionally kill all processes of the kids users:

killall -u username

This seems resolved in 10.11 El Capitan (and perhaps also 10.10 Yosemite... haven't tested there).

Specifically, the following now works (and is what I wanted):

set "Allow access to only these websites"
visit http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/ in Safari
grant access
access is now granted when visiting http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/ and pages with the same URL prefix, eg http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/topics
access is denied to pages on the same domain with a different URL prefix, eg http://www.bbc.co.uk/, or http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer.
