Any other way to move cursor to the end of line, instead of +

cursorkeybindingsshortcut

Cmd + → is not finger-friendly for me. So I wonder any other way without the 4-arrow-key to do the same, any one will be appreciated.

System: MacOS X El Capitan Version 10.11.6

Usage: move the cursor in any form on the web like Google Search, when text is visually selected, I want to move the cursor to the end of the line to append something.

I do be a little picky because I just learned Vim recently. Thanks all reply!

I am using Ctrl+e to move to the last letter and Ctrl+a to move to the first letter.

Remember that Emacs commands, work also in the Terminal.

That issue is related to your $PS1, you're probably missing some escape character. This one should work:

PS1="\[\e[1;31m\]\u[\w]$\[\e[0m\] "

I know this is an old question, but I've been beating my head over this for a few days now and I've finally got it. It turns out the solution is simple: update bash to 4.3. The default bash on Macs (even Yosemite) is 3.2.

Install Homebrew with

ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)"

then do

brew install bash

then change your default shell path (in Terminal Preferences) to

/usr/local/bin/bash

and that's it. Check your bash version with

bash --version

and as an added bonus, you can get mode indicators!

bind 'set show-mode-in-prompt on'

and it will show a + for Insert mode and : for Command mode.
